Notes

'Tara' prairie dropseed (Sporobolus heterolepis 'Tara') is a grass for borders, rock gardens, accents, and winter interest. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to average, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It forms an arching clump that grows slowly. Pink and brown tinted blooms appear in summer, and the fragrant plant is drought tolerant. Deer tend to pass it by.

Pairs well with Hairy aster, Blonde Ambition blue grama, and Limeglow creeping juniper.
