Notes

Sand live oak (Quercus geminata) is a tree for specimen and accent use and for pollinator gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 7, or down to 0°F (-18°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to wet, sandy or loamy soil. It is evergreen, with shiny green leaves that have a whitish underside. Butterflies and bees visit the spring blooms. It grows slowly, and it handles drought and salt.

Pairs well with Southern magnolia, Carolina jessamine, and Red spider lily.
