Notes

Sand lovegrass (Eragrostis trichodes) is a grass for naturalized plantings. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full sun to part shade and dry to average, sandy soil. It forms an arching bunch with fine-textured, purplish flower clusters. The grass often flops onto its neighbors late in the season, and the leaves turn rusty-tan when dormant. It also helps stabilize sandy areas.

Pairs well with Rock rose, Lemon thyme, and Zinnia.
