Notes
'Sanspareille' tulip (Tulipa 'Sanspareille') is a bulb for borders, cut flowers, and cottage gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full sun and average moisture. The purplish violet flowers open from early to late spring. Cut a few stems to bring that color indoors, or leave them in the bed for a spring show. Van der Vinne introduced it.
Pairs well with Mount Hood daffodil, Monsieur Jules Elie peony, and Little bluestem.
