Notes
'Sassafrass' dahlia (Dahlia 'Sassafrass') is a bulb for borders, cut flowers, containers, and cottage gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 8, or down to 10°F (-12°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist soil. It blooms from early to late summer and again in early to late autumn. Butterflies, hummingbirds, bees, and birds visit the flowers. Keep it away from dogs and cats, since it is toxic to both.
Pairs well with Snapdragon, Lemongrass, Blue Mouse Ears hosta, and Vermillionaire cuphea.
