Notes
Sea oats (Uniola paniculata) is a grass for low maintenance gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 6, or down to -10°F (-23°C). This plant likes full sun and dry to average, sandy soil. It grows slowly and reaches about 4 to 6 feet tall. Brownish spikelets hang in a curving cluster on a tall, smooth stem. Gardeners often use it for erosion control along beaches, and it is also collected for dried bouquets.
Pairs well with Seashore dropseed, Yellow necklacepod, Spanish bayonet, and Railroad vine.
