Notes
Sea ox-eye (Borrichia frutescens) is a perennial for borders, hedges, and low maintenance gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 8, or down to 10°F (-12°C). This plant likes full sun and dry to wet, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It forms colonies of shrub-like stems with fleshy, gray-green leaves and bright yellow, daisy-like flowers. Bees, butterflies, and seed-eating birds visit it, and it tolerates salt.
Pairs well with Seaside goldenrod, Eastern baccharis, and Black mangrove.
