Notes

'Shilpot' spotted laurel (Aucuba japonica 'Shilpot') is a shrub for hedges, privacy screens, shade gardens, and winter interest. It is hardy to USDA zone 6, or down to -10°F (-23°C). This plant likes part sun to full shade and dry to wet, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It grows slowly into an arching shape and stays evergreen all year. It also tolerates drought and salt, and it blooms in early to late spring.

Pairs well with Lenten rose, Lady fern, White bigleaf hydrangea, and Red spider lily.
