Notes

'Shiro-fukurin' Japanese holly (Ilex crenata 'Shiro-fukurin') is a shrub for borders, hedges, foundation plantings, and winter interest. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to wet, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Deer tend to pass it by. It grows slowly into a dense, evergreen mound that reaches 6 to 8 feet tall. White flowers open in early to late spring and attract bees.

Pairs well with Praying Hands hosta, Karl Foerster feather reed grass, and Pagoda dogwood.
