Notes

Silky oak (Grevillea robusta) is a tree for low maintenance and xeriscape gardens. It grows outdoors year-round in USDA zone 10 and warmer, down to about 30°F (-1°C). In colder areas, grow it as a houseplant or bring it indoors for winter. This plant likes full sun and dry to moist, sandy or loamy soil. Deer tend to pass it by. It blooms in spring and again in summer, and butterflies, hummingbirds, and birds visit the flowers.

Pairs well with Jacaranda, Flamboyant, Hummingbird sage, and Australian tree fern.
