Notes

Silver linden (Tilia tomentosa) is a tree for pollinator gardens, low maintenance landscapes, and specimen planting. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist soil of most types. Its leaves are green above and silvery white below, and the pale yellow flowers are fragrant. Bees and butterflies visit the blooms. It grows fast and handles drought and salt.

Pairs well with Shagbark hickory, Winterberry, and Big bluestem.
