Notes

Slender blue iris (Iris prismatica) is a perennial for meadows and low maintenance gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full sun to part shade and average to moist, loamy or clay soil. Thin, grass-like leaves rise from a basal cluster, and pale blue to violet blooms open on branched stems. Deer usually look elsewhere for a meal. It also tolerates salt.

Pairs well with Switchgrass, Royal fern, and Siebold's hosta.
