Notes
Smooth Solomon's seal (Polygonatum biflorum) is a perennial for shade gardens, borders, and naturalized areas. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes part sun to full shade and dry to wet soil of most types. Greenish-white bell flowers hang in pairs under the arching stems, and blue berries follow them. The berries attract birds, and the rhizomes stay in a clump instead of spreading widely.
Pairs well with Yellow trout-lily, Blackhaw viburnum, and Canada wild rye.

Eastern and central North America.
