Notes
'Byakko' Solomon's seal (Polygonatum odoratum 'Byakko') is an arching perennial for shade gardens, woodland gardens, and borders. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes part sun to full shade and dry to wet, loamy or clay soil. Deer and rabbits tend to browse other plants first. It grows 18 to 21 inches tall and spreads 21 to 24 inches. The flowers are fragrant and attract bees and butterflies.
Pairs well with Western sword fern, Wood lily, and Yellow trout-lily.
