Notes
Hairy Solomon's seal (Polygonatum pubescens) is a perennial for shade gardens, woodland, and borders. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full sun to full shade and average to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It is not a favorite of deer, though hungry deer will eat almost anything. Tiny hairs run along the veins on the undersides of the leaves. It grows quickly and draws bees, butterflies, hummingbirds, and birds.
Pairs well with White trillium, Cinnamon fern, Dutchman's breeches, and Red elderberry.
