Notes
Smooth witherod (Viburnum nudum) is a shrub for borders, hedges, privacy screens, and rain gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full sun to full shade and average to wet, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. White flowers appear in flat-topped clusters and are followed by colorful summer fruit that songbirds enjoy. The glossy leaves have good fall color, and the shrub transplants well.
Pairs well with Virginia sweetspire, Great blue lobelia, and Indian grass.
