Notes

'Sommerabend' rose (Rosa 'Sommerabend') is a shrub for borders, cottage gardens, containers, and pollinator gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 6, or down to -10°F (-23°C). This plant likes full sun and loamy or clay soil. Dark red blooms open in late spring, again in early to late summer, and once more in early autumn. Bees visit the flowers. Wilhelm Kordes III bred it in 1995.

Pairs well with Amsonia, Balloon flower, and Ornamental onion.
