Notes
'Sonata Carmine' cosmos (Cosmos bipinnatus 'Sonata Carmine') is an annual for borders, cut flowers, containers, and pollinator gardens. It cannot take cold, and a freeze will end its season. This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist soil of most types. Deer rarely make it their first choice. It grows fast into a clumping mound 12 to 24 inches tall and wide, and butterflies, hummingbirds, bees, and birds visit the blooms.
Pairs well with Purple top, Hidcote lavender, Marmalade black-eyed Susan, and Honka dahlia.
