Notes

'Sotite' sweet pepperbush (Clethra alnifolia 'Sotite') is a shrub for borders, pollinator gardens, hedges, and rain gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to wet, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It forms a dense, fragrant mound with white flowers from early to late summer. Butterflies, hummingbirds, bees, and birds visit it. Deer tend to pass it by. It also tolerates salt.

Pairs well with Invincibelle Ruby smooth hydrangea, Goldsturm black-eyed Susan, and Sensitive fern.
