Notes
'Soul Mate' swamp milkweed (Asclepias incarnata 'Soul Mate') is a perennial. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full sun and moist soil. Pink, vanilla-scented flowers with white crowns open in clusters from early to late summer. Monarch larvae feed on it, and hummingbirds and other butterflies visit the blooms. After flowering, seed pods split open to release silky-haired seeds.
Pairs well with Maximilian sunflower, Purple lovegrass, Tussock sedge, and Meadowsweet.
