Notes

'Southport' rose (Rosa 'Southport') is a shrub for borders, cottage gardens, specimen planting, and cut flowers. It is hardy to USDA zone 6, or down to -10°F (-23°C). This plant likes full sun and loamy or clay soil. Medium red, fragrant blooms open in late spring, again in early to late summer, and again in early autumn. Bees visit the flowers. McGredy bred it in 1933, and thorny, upright stems carry light green leaves.

Pairs well with Foxglove, Delphinium, and Blue grama.
