Notes
'Stapleford Gem' beardtongue (Penstemon 'Stapleford Gem') is a perennial for borders, containers, pollinator gardens, and low maintenance beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 7, or down to 0°F (-18°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to average, sandy, loamy, or chalky soil. Hummingbirds, bees, and birds visit it, and it tolerates drought and salt. It sits low on the menu for deer and rabbits. Plants grow 12 to 24 inches tall and wide.
Pairs well with Spotted beebalm, Purple top, and Mondo grass.
