Stiff twinspur (Diascia rigescens) is a perennial for borders. It is hardy to USDA zone 7, or down to 0°F (-18°C). This plant likes full sun and average to moist, sandy, loamy, or chalky soil. It blooms in early to late summer and again in early to late autumn. Each plant spreads about 12 inches, so you can set it at the front of a bed.
