Notes

'Sugarloaf' pineapple (Ananas comosus 'Sugarloaf') is a perennial for borders, containers, specimen planting, and accents. It grows outdoors year-round in USDA zone 10 and warmer, down to about 30°F (-1°C). In colder areas, grow it as a houseplant or bring it indoors for winter. This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, sandy or loamy soil. It forms a dense, evergreen clump 24 to 36 inches tall and wide. Purple flowers appear from early to late summer, and the plant tolerates drought.

Pairs well with Mondo grass, Red spider lily, and Star jasmine.
