Notes

Star jasmine (Trachelospermum jasminoides) is a vine for privacy screens, containers, and borders. It is hardy to USDA zone 8, or down to 10°F (-12°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, sandy, loamy, or chalky soil. Deer rarely make it their first choice. Sweetly fragrant white flowers look like spinning stars and open in early summer and now and then after. The glossy evergreen leaves stay green all year, and bees visit the blooms.

Pairs well with Pineapple sage, Fountain grass, and Mexican petunia.

Native range

Asia, Hainan, Nansei-shoto, and Ogasawara-shoto.
