Notes
'Sunjoy Mini Salsa' Japanese barberry (Berberis thunbergii 'Sunjoy Mini Salsa') is a shrub for borders, hedges, foundation plantings, and specimen use. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Deer rarely make it their first choice. It has a dense habit and grows at a moderate pace. Pale yellow flowers open in early to late spring and attract bees.
Pairs well with Cheyenne Spirit echinacea, Indian grass, and Prairie Sun rudbeckia.
