Notes

'Admiration' Japanese barberry (Berberis thunbergii 'Admiration') is a shrub for borders, containers, and hedges. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist soil of most types. It forms a dense, low mound that stays small. Bees and birds visit it, and it tolerates drought and salt. It sits low on the menu for deer.

Pairs well with Blue Arrow Rocky mountain juniper, Indian grass, and Common milkweed.
