Notes

'Concorde' Japanese barberry (Berberis thunbergii 'Concorde') is a shrub for borders, rock gardens, and foundation plantings. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Its dense, slow growing mounds stay between 12 and 24 inches tall and wide. Deer usually look elsewhere for a meal. The purple, red, and bronze leaves add color, and bees and birds visit it.

Pairs well with Heather, Blue Arrow Rocky mountain juniper, and Buffalo grass.
