Notes
'Sunset' coneflower (Echinacea 'Sunset') is a perennial with orange petals around a reddish-brown center cone. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to average soil. It sits low on the menu for deer. The fragrant flowers open from early to late summer on plants 24 to 30 inches tall, and the plant tolerates drought.
Pairs well with Blonde Ambition blue grama, Spotted beebalm, and Catnip.
