Notes
Tansy rosinweed (Silphium pinnatifidum) is a perennial for borders, meadow plantings, and naturalized areas. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full sun and average moisture. It grows 36 to 120 inches tall and spreads 12 to 36 inches, so give it room at the back of a bed. Yellow flowers open from mid to late summer and into early autumn.
Pairs well with Gladiator ornamental onion, Pincushion flower, and Ruby Spice sweet pepperbush.
Native range
Southeastern and central United States.
