Notes
'The Blues' Colorado spruce (Picea pungens 'The Blues') is a tree for specimen planting, accents, privacy screens, and winter interest. It is hardy to USDA zone 2, or down to -50°F (-46°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It grows slowly into a columnar evergreen about 5 to 6 feet tall and wide. Birds visit it, and it tolerates drought and salt. Deer and rabbits usually look elsewhere for a meal.
Pairs well with Redmond American linden, Twinflower, and Red fescue.
