Notes
'Thuem' Colorado spruce (Picea pungens 'Thuem') is a tree for specimen plantings, accents, borders, and winter interest. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It grows slowly into a narrow, columnar shape and keeps its evergreen needles through winter. Deer and rabbits usually look elsewhere for a meal. Drought and salt are no trouble once it settles in.
Pairs well with Berry Poppins winterberry, Carlton daffodil, and Sensitive fern.
