Notes

Tickseed (Coreopsis tripteris) is a perennial for borders, meadows, pollinator gardens, and cut flowers. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full sun to part shade and dry to moist soil of most types. Brown disks with yellow rays bloom in summer and again in autumn, and butterflies, bees, and birds visit them. It is not a favorite of deer, though hungry deer will eat almost anything. Give this tall plant room at the back of a bed.

Pairs well with Switchgrass, Standing Ovation little bluestem, and Nodding onion.
