Notes

Tickseed sunflower (Bidens aristosa) is an annual for pollinator gardens, meadows, and low maintenance spots. It is typically grown as an annual. It is not cold-hardy and will not survive freezing temperatures. This plant likes full sun to part shade and dry to wet, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Slender, leafy, much-branched stems carry several yellow, daisy-like flower heads that attract butterflies and bees. The prickly fruit cling to clothing, and you can remove them with the flat edge of a knife blade.

Pairs well with Big bluestem, Blue wild indigo, and Lemon Queen sunflower.
