Notes

'Lemon Queen' sunflower (Helianthus annuus 'Lemon Queen') is an annual for borders, cut flowers, and pollinator gardens. It is tender to cold, and the first hard frost will kill it. This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist soil of most types. Deer and rabbits tend to browse other plants first. Its pale yellow flowers have warmer yellow centers and bloom from summer into fall. Put it at the back of the border, where its tall stems can rise above the plants in front.

Pairs well with Cornflower, Prairie Sun rudbeckia, and Lily.
