Notes

'Tom' sweet pepperbush (Clethra alnifolia 'Tom') is a shrub for borders, pollinator gardens, hedges, and rain gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to wet, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It sits low on the menu for deer. White, fragrant flowers open from early to late summer and draw butterflies, hummingbirds, and bees.

Pairs well with Switchgrass, Red twig dogwood, and Solomon's seal.
