Notes

Blueberry (Vaccinium corymbosum) is a shrub for food gardens, hedges, and pollinator gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full sun to full shade and dry to wet, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It is grown for its edible blue fruit, which follows white or pink bell-shaped flowers. Birds love the berries, and the leaves turn red, yellow, orange, and purple in fall. Mulch helps it, and you can prune after fruiting.

Pairs well with Spicebush, Sweet pepperbush, Switchgrass, and Wild bergamot.
