Notes

'Vedrariensis' lobelia (Lobelia speciosa 'Vedrariensis') is a perennial for borders, rain gardens, and naturalized areas. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to wet soil of most types. It is not a favorite of deer or rabbits, though hungry ones will eat almost anything. Purple flowers open in early to late summer and again in early to late autumn. They draw butterflies, hummingbirds, and bees.

Pairs well with Purple loosestrife, Knotweed, Karl Foerster feather reed grass, and Ostrich fern.
