Notes

'Velvet Fragrance' rose (Rosa 'Velvet Fragrance') is a shrub for borders, cut flowers, and specimen plantings. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full sun and loamy or clay soil. The large, heavily petalled flowers are dark velvety crimson with a strong perfume. Bees visit the blooms. Gareth Fryer bred it in 1989.

Pairs well with Casa Blanca lily, Cornflower, and Indian grass.
