Notes

'Velvet Night' bell heather (Erica cinerea 'Velvet Night') is a shrub for borders, containers, and ground cover. It is hardy to USDA zone 6, or down to -10°F (-23°C). This plant likes full sun and average to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It is evergreen and drought tolerant, so it needs little care. Flowers appear in spring, summer, and autumn, and they attract butterflies and hummingbirds. It is not a favorite of deer, though hungry deer will eat almost anything.

Pairs well with May Night salvia, Fountain grass, and Boxwood.
