Notes
'Golden Starlet' tree heath (Erica carnea 'Golden Starlet') is a shrub for borders, rock gardens, containers, and winter interest. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It stays evergreen and grows slowly into a dense mound that spreads 12 to 24 inches. Bees visit the blooms in winter and spring. It is not a favorite of deer, though hungry deer will eat almost anything.
Pairs well with Lenten rose, Frosted Curls sedge, Midwinter Fire common dogwood, and Stonecrop.
