Notes
'Virginia' coneflower (Echinacea purpurea 'Virginia') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, pollinator gardens, and cottage gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Deer usually look elsewhere for a meal. It blooms from early to late summer and draws butterflies, bees, and birds. It also tolerates drought and salt.
Pairs well with Prairie dropseed, Butterfly milkweed, and Indian grass.
