Notes
Water arum (Calla palustris) is a perennial for borders, rain gardens, and low maintenance spots. It is hardy to USDA zone 2, or down to -50°F (-46°C). This plant likes part sun to full shade and average to wet, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. A broad white spathe wraps around a spadix covered with tiny yellow flowers. Red berries follow the blooms. Add a light mulch in extremely cold, snowless winters.
Pairs well with Yellow marsh marigold, Crested wood fern, and Beech fern.
