Notes
Western marsh spider lily (Hymenocallis liriosme) is a perennial for borders and meadows. It is hardy to USDA zone 7, or down to 0°F (-18°C). This plant likes full sun to part shade and average to wet soil of most types. Deer tend to pass it by. The fragrant white flowers have long, narrow tubes, and two or three blooms open at the top of each stem. Plant the bulbs in fall, and never let the soil dry out.
Pairs well with Swamp milkweed, Culver’s root, and Wax myrtle.
