Notes

Northern spider lily (Hymenocallis occidentalis) is a perennial for borders and rain gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full sun to part shade and average to wet soil of most types. Fragrant white blooms up to 7 inches across form clusters at the top of leafless stalks. One bulb multiplies to form a dense clump, and the foliage dies back in mid-summer.

Pairs well with Golden club, Hardy hibiscus, and Autumn fern.
