Notes

Wild senna (Senna hebecarpa) is a perennial for borders, pollinator gardens, and low maintenance beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full sun to part shade and average to wet, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Clusters of light yellow to orange flowers open in the leaf axils and on top of sparsely branched stems, and butterflies, hummingbirds, and bees visit the blooms. It sits low on the menu for deer.

Pairs well with Indian grass, Wild bergamot, Coneflower, and New York ironweed.
