Notes
Wingnut (Pterocarya rehderiana) is a tree for shade gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 6, or down to -10°F (-23°C). This plant likes full sun and average moisture. It can reach 50 to 72 feet tall and wide, so give it plenty of room. Green blooms open in late spring and early summer. Plant it where its wide canopy has space to spread overhead.
Pairs well with Hornbeam, Japanese forest grass, Sedge, and Coralbells.
