Notes

'Xanthos' cosmos (Cosmos bipinnatus 'Xanthos') is an annual for borders, cut flowers, pollinator gardens, and containers. It is tender to cold, and the first hard frost will kill it. This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist soil of most types. Butterflies, hummingbirds, bees, and birds all visit it. Deer usually look elsewhere for a meal. It grows fast into a clump 12 to 24 inches tall and wide, and it tolerates drought.

Pairs well with Marmalade black-eyed Susan, Hidcote lavender, and Lollipop purple top.
