Notes

Yellow crownbeard (Verbesina occidentalis) is a perennial for borders, pollinator gardens, and cottage gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 6, or down to -10°F (-23°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist soil of most types. Yellow flowers appear in summer and again in autumn. Butterflies and bees visit them, and the plant is drought tolerant. Deer tend to pass it by.

Pairs well with Anise hyssop, Japanese forest grass, and Gaura.
