Notes

'Aerie' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Aerie') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Myron D. Bigger bred it in 1948. The semi-double flowers open light pink in mid spring and age to white. Most blooms have a nest of petals in the center with a collar of yellow stamens around it.

Pairs well with Columbine, Smooth aster, and Queen of Night tulip.
